I just recently had the same issue. The flameout you're hearing is just that - the flame "puffing" out on the burner.
There are several things that can cause this. Could be a partially blocked flue, dirty burner, reduced propane pressure, bad control board, etc.
I'd recommend lighting the burner and checking the flame for color and size. If the flame is good (like mine was) it could be the control board. After cleaning and checking everything on mine I replaced the control board as a last ditch effort. That fixed the problem.
