dometic 2333 fridge help

Ive got an older dometic fridge, 2333. Works fine on 110. I took the gas burner apart and cleaned the orifice, burner tube and tried to clean the flue as best I can. I tried pushing a cable down from the top, but it hit something (baffle I would guess) and then blew it out from the bottom. Quite a bit of smaller debris fell out.

Lit the propane system, and it lit fine, and the burner is running. The flame just looks small to my uneducated mind. I dont really hear it crank up either like I do in my newer travel trailer.

Is there a way to verify the gas system is working as it should?
  • Only way is with a Manometer for a LP gas PRESSURE verification. 11.5 inches is the pressure. Doug

+1 this is the only way
  • Flame should just reach up into the flue...blue steady
    See pg.12 FIG 14

Thermocouple keeps gas safety vavle open when flame is heating it up so much be working OK

Flue baffle can be lifted out via the wire hanger at top of flue.
After reinstalling baffle.......make sure flue cap is put back on
    See pg.12 D7

    Dometic RM2333 Manual
  • X3 on the manometer. There are some YouTube videos to show you how to build one in a half hour that is very accurate.
  • Your 2333 should have a BYPASS tstat for the LP operation. What that means is, when the refer reaches the set temp on LP, the flame diminishes to a LOWER flame. This is regulated by the tstat which lowers the LP pressure for a lower flame. When the refer needs to cool, the tstat allows full 11.5 inches LP pressure and the flame gets to its larger stage. So, on the output side of the tstat is NOT 11.5 when on MAX cool the tstat is BAD. Doug

I should have stated you should have 11.5 at the INPUT on the tstat and 11.5 output. If you have 11.5 input an NOT 11.5 output the tstat is bad. If you do NOT have 11.5 input, your LP regulator is bad. If your LP regulator requires adjustment, then it is BAD.
