Dometic 310 seal not centered

As you can see in this photo, the seal on my Dometic 310 is not centered and more often than not it will not hold water. I have replaced the seal, put the seal in hot water to soften, have applied Plumbers Grease and cleaned all parts several times.
Is there a way to separate the two halves and recenter the bowl on the base?
