I replaced the fabric on our travel trailer that had the 9100 awning , and yes it has the torsion spring on the non-motorized end. It does also have a little more tension than the manual models. From what I remember, the instructions that came with the fabric, and the online videos, called for 9-10 turns on each end, and mine took 12-13. The reason I know how many turns is the cotter pin I used (which was the recommended size) bent to the point I had to take the tension assembly apart. Not something I recommend if you can avoid it. I would recommend using a hardened pin punch instead.
