Dometic E1 code

The tech found a bad cable connector at the front a/c unit. We are back in business again. The dw likes heat on these cold nights. Happy wife... well you know the rest. ;)

I took the fiver to the dealer today to have them troubleshoot the problem. More to come I'm sure.

E1 is a communications failure- either a bad cable, bad 12 volt power, or RF interference.

Are you running both furnace and fridge on propane? After you opened the valve to a full propane tank, did you flush the air out of the lines via the burners on the range before you tried to light the furnace and turn on the fridge?

If you did not, my guess is that you have yet to get propane to either. I don't have your rig, but I do know that if I fail to get the stove burners lit before turning on the fridge, I get an E1 error. I also get the furnace failing to light, ditto the hot water heater. Each will try to light the burner three times, then give up and go into error-code shut down.

Because there is a short or communication problem in that phone type cable. Access the roof AC control board. Zone 1, there will be 2 phone type cables connected. Disconnect BOTH. The wall tstat will go dead. Connect 1 cable. If the tstat powers up do a reset and see if Zone 1 AC functions on all modes. If the tstat does NOT power up, that is the cable to the Zone 2 AC. Disconnect that cable and connect the other cable and the tstat will power up. Do the reset and see if all modes function. IF they do, connect the extra cable back to the Zone 1 board. Then do a reset, IF you get the error again then the problem is between the 2 AC units. Disconnect the Phone type cable at the Zone 2 control board and do the reset on the tstat. IF the Zone 1 operates in all modes, then the problem is in that cable between the 2 AC units. The normal procedure is to cut off the modular ends and install 2 new ends and proceed. Doug
