dometic horizon box awning

Question

I have a dometic horizon box awning model 977q11.050 on a 93 Lance 880. The problem I'm having is I can't crank it in or out. I took the gearbox off last night and found the little spur gear is stripped out. The worm gear is fine. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement gearbox, new or used? I hate to spend alot of money on a whole new awning when just the gear is bad. Not much luck finding anything locally in the portland oregon area. Thanks Erik.

Maybe you will be lucky and find a shear pin under the spur gear that can be replaced? Are the teeth fine on the spur gear?

You might look at the parts breakdowns at http://www.fiammausa.com/service/sparesDrawings.asp?spares_ID=1- most of the Horizon models were rebranded Fiamma awnings, and the parts are interchangeable.
