Dometic NDA1402: clear ice in freezer

Question

2007 era Dometic NDA 1402. Side by side doors. Fridge works great - cools and freezes and as it should. Issue is clear ice buildup in freezer on side opposite the ice maker. It is not frost. It is pure ice. See picture. Drain hoses seem to be draining as they are supposed to.

Any suggestions (other than go residential/standalone icemaker)? Thanks

Both freezer and food compartments have air circulating fans AND auto defrost modes via heat films

During freezer defrost mode the fan is suppose to stop to allow defrosting/condensation to drain away then fan restarts to aid in cooling

Looks like heat film is defrosting but fan stays running so condensation turns back into ice
