That stinks, our Dometic is the same model as yours and works perfectly at high altitudes. We also live at the same elevation here in Albuquerque and 80 percent of our camping is at 7K"-9K' elevation and fridge operates fine whether on 120vac or propane. Here's hoping you get it worked out, something in not right on your unit or these forums would be bombarded with this issue. I know plenty of RVers who primarily camp at higher elevations, some with new rigs as well not having any issues as you described.
