Dometic refrigerator question

My Dometic has a switch just above the freezer doow. Says you should switch over when the ambient temperature is below 50 deg. Trouble is I have never been clear as to whether it should be off or on at below 50 deg. My instructions are not clear to me.

We may not be talking about the same switch.

Chris: I guess this is a Low Ambient Temperature switch. That would mean it should be off in the summer. My fridge stays on all year round in the storage lot where we have power available, so in the winter I should leave it on.
  • There are 2 switches possible- the LAT, or Low Ambient Temperature switch should only be switched on when it is cold- it leaves the light on to add heat to the box. The other switch is a heater in the frame, which can be left on, as the only downside is current draw.
