Dometic refrigerator

We are having trouble getting the ignitor on our dometic to light the burner when put in gas mode. We have 12 volt at the re-ignitor and 7.7 volt at the ignitor. Any suggestions on what else we could check? The refrigerator will light with a lighter but cannot get the click, click, click.

If you can hear a the reignitor trying to spark if you pull the high voltage lead, it is good, and the problem is the electrode. If you cannot hear that, replace the reignitor , should be in the $40 range.

  • Try removing the electrode, lightly sand the tip, wipe the ceramic off with a rag and silicone spray lube, then reinstall, setting the spark gap at 3/16".
I wouldn't try measuring the voltage at the electrode, as it is somewhere north of 10,000 volts.
