We had similar problem, changed to Whirlpool, problem solved. I realize this may not be an option for you, but the above questions are inherent for an RV fridge. Good luck

to clarify/paraphrase this post,what i believe he is saying is dump the absorption(RV fridge) and change to a Whirlpool(compressor fridge),problem solved.these questions(problems) are inherent for an absorption(RV fridge).
