Dometic single zone stat

I prefer a 1 degree furnace differential. No need to tell me why I should use 2 degree.

Here’s the issue. My system is properly initialized, but if I try to change the differential to 1 degree it loses it’s initialization and i get the click, click, click.

When I reinitialize the system, it reverts back to 2 degree. Catch 22.

Any ideas.

  • Is it new? Sounds like a defect or fail.

Is it set right at temp? Set it a few degrees up and let it run a minute.
Mine has been fine. Although I have mine at 2 degrees to reduce cycling and save battery.

Do you have the original or the new comfort touch?
  • The furnace/AC will run more to keep it at 1 degree. Will use more energy!
    What is exact model number?

    Nice comment Newman.

Does the manual say anything about this?

Ask doug he will know the CORRECT answer :B
  • There's no reason you should want a 2 degree swing. The most efficient stats, Energy Star rated, keep it to less than a degree and save energy doing so.
THey aren't cheap but a good residential ES rated stat will do a much better job. You just have to add a switch for AC fan speed or leave it set to high.
