Soon, my current TT will be up on blocks at a seasonal site. There is no water system at the park. Because of this, I plan to fill my fresh water tank with lake water.
How can I do this to ensure safe drinking water.
In addition to any filtering that you might do to keep sand or other particles out of the water going into you RV tank, you might want to add a little chlorine into your tank as you fill it so as to kill any bacteria/viruses in the tank water and throughout your RV's fresh water lines as you use the water from the tank.
I add a little chlorine to my RV's tank every time I top it up at home before every trip to keep the entire fresh water system sanitized. I'd certainly want to do this with each fill-up from a lake or stream.
Read on the Internet how much chlorine to use for sanitization of whatever gallon capacity your RV's tank is at each fill-up. BE SURE to use "regular" chlorine that is FREE OF ANY ADDITIVES that sometimes are included ... such as what they add to make "SPLASH-LESS" chlorine!
