We give up!
Called Sears and they don’t work on Dometic. Called the dealer and they have no idea, but can take me into the shop sometime near the end of May.
I ran a kitchen knife across the top of the microwave under the cabinet. There are no screws at all within the first 6 inches of the front of the microwave, so it is not mounted the normal way.
We decided to give up on any hope of fixing the unit. Plan A now is to remove the old microwave anyway we can. We’ll just break off pieces and pry things out of it until we get the whole thing removed. Then we plan to build a shelf about the size of the existing unit to hide the mounting plate on the back wall and insert a small counter top microwave in its place.
The existing unit is 22 inches wide. If we use half inch material for the sides of the new shelf, the new area will be 21 inches wide and there are a number of units available that are 20 and a fraction inches wide.
Best part of the new plan is the counter top units are cheap and can be replaced again easily.
I'll post the information on how it was mounted when I find out!
