- RJsfishinExplorerThe links above is for Mono panels.
Read JimDenver's post above,...about Mono verses Poly panels before you buy.
3 different brand panels make up my 300 watts. They are all built well, even if a little different frame work. One is lighter than the other 2, but built well. Come to remembering now, the lighter one is maybe the 90 watt, verses 100 for the other 2. But they are all the same physical dementions.
Electronically, they all work great together, even tho some of the specs are different slightly. bigfootford wrote:

Those are fine. Get at least two.
Is this a decent panel set up?

I would not use a PWM type controller with this, MPPT is what I would recommend and use.

Still they will work fine with PWM controller. Just a bit more voltage gets clipped.
If using PWM controller the important spec is Isc or short circuit amps. Use cost per Isc rather than cost per watt to compare value.- bigfootfordNomad II

Jim - JiminDenverExplorer IIThe only issues I can think of were with the bendable panels holding water. I have tested the three brands I have and because of it, I have passed on the decent deals on CanadianSolar panels. The 220w unit I have is just a disappointment compared to the others.
A while back there was a article about some of the Chinese manufacturers cutting corners using sub standard or untested materials but haven't seen any complaints over failing panels. - Snowman9000Explorer

I have never read a problem with any panels ever having issues.
When I search here, the only Ecoworthy results I get are for their controllers. Does anyone have any experience with their 12v panels?
Go by the specs and they should be fine.
Yeah, when I think about it, no one here ever talks about panel brands except to just say this is the one I have or the one I'm looking at. Not like the debates and problems with controllers, inverters, converters and such. Snowman9000 wrote:

Didja search ebay on 100 watt 12v solar panel,.....or any other wattage. Their all the same good quality, and all perform very good.
Windy nation, Ecoworthy, and a couple more too, all about the same price too. Most buy the poly panels over the mono, why I don't know.

I probably started the poly over mono thing with my side by side testing. All of the advertising say that monos are more efficient because they reach their rated output with less footprint. Great for a grid tied system where you have a automatic back up. Let even light clouds come in and the Voc and Isc of a mono drops like a rock. In heavier clouds my 220w mono wont even wake up the controller.
My 245w monos will drop from 17a to under 3a with the lightest cloud cover. In the same light my 230w poly easily puts out 8a. Even in cloud cover think enough that you can't tell where the sun is, the poly puts out 4a. That's not enough to keep up with our uses, but was enough to keep us off the generator until the sun came back a few days later.
So the hype is right but just not for our situation - RJsfishinExplorerDidja search ebay on 100 watt 12v solar panel,.....or any other wattage. Their all the same good quality, and all perform very good.
