So today is the TTs battery charge test with the eco-worthy controller and Schott 230 panel.
I ran the battery down to 12.3 with the 12v fridge last night. I got full sun to the panel at 8 am and started seeing 10-13.5 amps as long as it wasn't shaded. Unlike the last test I will be doing my best to track the sun and keep the panel from being shaded.
What I hope for is a full battery by night fall just as I would camping.
A few things I've learned so far is shading impacts the output of the panel more than I thought. Even in full sun a few twigs or even just your hand in front of the panel can knock the amps down from 12 to 9 real quick. That's a 25 % loss for a much smaller than 25% area shaded. The panel doesn't produce enough power at dawns early light to wake up the controller either. It doesn't have to have direct sun but there has to be good illumination to get it going.
PS I know the last paragraph has nothing to do with the controller, it's just a first time observation that I have read a few dozen time here.
