I have been interested in reading your thread because I am also in Denver and considering whether to go with MPPT and 24v panels. This weekend might be a good test of your controller and panels due to the cold temps that are predicted (we appear to be getting snow a little earlier than most of the country). That should keep the panels cooler as well as provide a good test of the temperature compensation of the MPPT.
A really handy tool for orienting panels can be found at Sun tool. Below is a table I printed out for Sunday, 10-28-12, that might help position your panels (assuming the sun comes out on Sunday of course). Since I didn't know what part of town you are in, I chose a central location at the intersection of Colfax & Broadway in downtown Denver. As you can see, it shows maximum elevation and southernmost azimuth at about 3:00 PM (good thing the Broncos are playing Sunday night instead of Sunday at 2:00!):
