I bought this Eco-Worthy controller now.
I connected a 24V powersupply and regardless of how much current going in and out from the controller the MPPT DEMO an PWM is showing about 8A. Shouldn't the number of either mppt or pwm correspond with the actually current?
I use the demo a lot to check my panel's output amps. That is what the amps on the demo shows. It is the same amps you would get if you disconnected the panel just then and took its Isc.
I can see if the demo amps is at or above the panel's rated Isc, and if it is I know I am getting "full sun" and things are as good as they can get.
I have no clue what the mystery calculation the demo does to show how wonderful MPPT is. :) Ignore all that part completely IMO
BTW the watts showing normally are the OUTPUT watts and equal battery voltage times output amps to the battery. I have never seen more than about 203w showing there even when my 230w panel is showing over its rated Isc of 8.3 amps, so I have no idea where the missing 30 amps went. I keep looking but no luck yet.
What is worse, with the panel in summer at 50C temp (ambient 25C) I am still getting 8.3 amps of Isc but now my best watts is more like 180 instead of 200. Panel heating is a killer.
I did a proper measurement of INPUT watts and got the actual Vmp and Imp and that was also just over 200, so the controller efficiency was about 95%, which is correct, same as a Morningstar, so it is not the controller! The Eco-Worthy is a good choice, you will like it.
I suppose my next suspect is the panel itself not being truly a 230, but more like a 210, no idea. Anyway you will see all sorts of funny numbers, but it doesn't mean something is "wrong" (at least not always)
