#8 is just for making setting changes and you can access with it on or off.
Are you sure the 10BaseT Ethernet interface settings are absolutely correct in the computer? Maybe have someone else check. I have to disconnect the laptop from my normal wireless connection in order to access the controller - maybe a factor for you?
