I'm not sure I can set up a controlled enough test to prove to those looking for difference that the Eco-W can milk just as much out of a panel as the MS does. I have seen the same peak numbers for watts and amps when not stacking the controllers on one bank. Even two Eco-w's stacked on one bank go back and forth as to which is the high controller.
I don't have a 24v bank but I still feel that BFL's 230w panel doesn't have the voltage to give the MPPT anything to work with. Maybe a 300w+ panel with a 45v Voc would show what is being lost by using PWM.
The forecast for the next ten days is partially cloudy at best, so any further test will have to wait. I'd have to buy the wire to run a true parallel vs series test with all three panels so unless the shading series test goes horrible wrong, I'll go with it.
