Mine has Absorb as one of the things it can be in after Bulk, but it always goes straight to Float once my Vabs is reached. So mine actually does the absorption stage while saying Float on the display.
I have to set the Float voltage to be my actual Vabs. Float only goes to 14.5 instead of 15 like Vabs setting, so with mine, as soon as Bulk gets the batts to 14.8 as set for Absorption, it drops to 14.5 to do the actual absorption. There is a reduction in amps to the battery when this happens, which is not the usual taper effect then, which makes it take longer to reach full SOC. This is not a problem with the longer daylight hours, but is with shorter daylight when I would prefer to keep the Vabs up and the amps too.
egads that sounds like a manual controller. MS you just tell it how long you want absorption to be. And you can have an automatic extended absorption based on a low battery voltage start level. At a very low start voltage MS can automatically stay in absorption all day. Fully automatic and set the way you like. I have not touched mine in years. It just works.
