I had noticed the same thing and didn't think much of it; but this minor issue has been around since it was reported to MS tech support in 2010. Makes you wonder about other things firmware updates that are included with MSview.
I looked at my 12/14 MSView data and the values were correct. So apparently it got corrected.
While I haven't had any issues with MSView the software could be much more usable and user friendly. The documentation could also be improved. Perhaps the firmware could also be improved.
