Good point about getting max amps earlier in the day when the sun is still too low for max amps while battery SOC is still low. To do tests for max amps mid-day with the batts now higher, you have to run a load to make "room" for the solar amps.
Point being you don't want to have "too much solar" but you also want "enough" so you get the batts back up before dark. You can't arrange for that because the Earth won't sit still and how much is "enough" keeps changing all year. Also the weatherman can't even keep the days the same all week. Solar is a mug's game.
PT, all those MPPT controllers look the same to me! :) The Eco-W does have a coil and is a "buck" type. ISTR there was a youtube showing that coil on the circuit board but no idea of what "values" it has compared with any other "20a" MPPT controller's
