Here is an experience...
Biddeford Double electric blanket
One sheet
K-Mart quality comforter (hooo-boy)
45 degree night.
Sheet, Biddeford then comforter
HEAVY, uncomfortable. Electric blanket set on "5" for my comfort level
THEN THIS
Sheet
Electric Blanket
THINSULATE COMFORTER
Half the weight. No 2 on the Biddeford is too warm for me. No 1 is better. When the temp rises into the fifties, off comes the Biddeford. Amazing weight difference. Similar to goose down. I bought the California King size for a double bed, doubled it and nearly roasted without using the electric blanket. The Thinsulate is so big, I pull it completely over my head and the Bi-PAP saves me when I have eaten lots of beans during the day.
Doubled over, using an electric blanket, I imagine this would serve for minus zero Fahrenheit nights. Furry slippers and a heavy wool robe cleverly hung beside the bed would serve to keep voyages to the baño from being agonizing.
Nights are cool here. Daytime highs are in the eighties. Used with care, the Thinsulate wrapped around an ice chest will keep ice cream rock hard on an hours long shopping trip in Michoacan.
