Read your history. Tibetans have a different origin, history, language, religion, and social structure.
China and India fought a war.
When Americans approached the YALU river within 30 miles China attacked.S South Korea did not attack the north.
The Chinese are claiming all the water around the Philippines. Much like it would be if we claimed all the water around Crimea. Or Hong Kong Harbor.
If China had no issue they would not be spending trillions of dollars on OFFENSIVE weaponry.
This is about feeding the mouth that will bite you not politics.
Stupid to pay an enemy's gym and sharpshooting school.
WE should be or the Mexican people should be manufacturing solar panels not China. Not Russia not Al Qaeda. Our biggest enemy is our government. The four horsewomen of the Apocalypse.
Right on, David!!!!
I'm completely with you on being very, very, very concerned with China: https://www.foreignaffairs.com/articles/china/china-plan-rule-asia
By the way, regarding Earth's ability to power hundreds of millions of vehicles with electricity, all that has to happen is that:
1) Our world civilization raise itself to about a Type I on the Kardashev scale https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kardashev_scale, and
2) we figure out where all the lithium is going to come from and how to recycle old batteries made from it.
Of course an ultimate solution might be to cap the world's population at around one billion ... and then we could "polute" as much as we want and still nicely deal with it. - pianotunaNomad IIIPhil,
Are you volunteering to walk into an extermination booth for the "good of the world"? - MEXICOWANDERERExplorer
The ideal constituent.
I remember the look of outrage on the face of the rangerette when I asked if a permit could be had for thinning of barricade thick tangles of live-oak east of US 101 in northern California. Seven years later it was all ashes. The live oak, hundreds of houses and a shopping center.
A new thought occurred

Nope ... and of course it's not necessary for any of us currently living. I'm talking about going forward and paying it forward.
The DW and myself have already done our part. We stopped at 2 children -> one of them stopped at 2 children, and the other one never married and will never have children.
We tried to lead by localized example ... but it looks like it's not working and our kids and/or grandkids and all after them may go down with the Earthship. :( - pianotunaNomad IIIHi Phil,
I stopped at one and she chose to not procreate--nor to learn to drive a car. - MEXICOWANDERERExplorerChew and spit consumerism is one of the deadlier habits on this earth.
And the only recycling that truly works is for aluminum beverage cans.
Pay more for recycled paper products and you get something a dollar store would outright reject.
Pay for synthetic meat that a dog would gag at and flies are repulsed.
Life is fast approaching the state of a coin inside a coin dispenser. Sorted and organized and facing condemnation if it doesn't fit. - joebedfordNomad IIBlink? Blink?

Hmmm ... "Beyond Meat" is supposed to be pretty good: https://www.beyondmeat.com/products/
But like all quality stuff it's a bit pricey for the wallet, but I wonder how much real meat ultimately costs -> our wallet plus Mother Earth?
FWIW, be careful using "dog" in any food discussion. Boy-O-Boy are pets and their food "big business" today ... way beyond any extremes in the human food industry. A lotta folks are getting rich off our "pets". :E - pianotunaNomad IIIIf you try a "beyond meat" sandwich (to call it a burger would be an insult) ask for it to be well done. Otherwise it may come dripping grease. DAMHIK

I once attended a summer cookout where the hostess chose to serve "fat free" hot dogs. (Thank goodness she also had hamburgers.) No one, and I mean NO ONE was eating the hot dogs.
She gave one of the hot dogs to her yellow lab. I stood there with her and watched the yellow lab carry it to the middle of the yard and BURY IT.
