I remember having a conversation with the owner of an EV. Not a Tesla, but a Volt. I asked him, given the relatively high price of electricity in the area, if had found the EV to be worthwhile.
After looking at me like I had two heads, he explained that he had a free charging station at the state university where he worked.
Well, no wonder it paid off for him. He's getting free charging! Well, not really free...since it's a state university, I'm subsidizing his "fuel".
I wonder how these EVs would survive without subsidies and free charging stations.
