Electrical question???

I have a 30 amp breaker box in my garage for our TT and the plug is on the outside of the garage about 20 ft from the trailer with a fence in between. what i would like to do is extend the wiring from the garage outside plug to alongside the TT and put another breaker box on a post right next to the trailer.
the new box would also have a 30 amp breaker in it along with the 30 amp plug.
MY QUESTION IS, is it ok to have the one line on 2 different breakers, the original one in the garage and now the new one on the new post or do i have to eliminate the breaker in the garage?
thanks

  • thanks for all the info and responses. guess i will go with the additional breaker
  • I did exactly what you're asking about, using one of the pre-assembled RV outlet boxes. NEC allows breakers chained in series. There's a limit, 5 I think, but I'm not 100% sure of the exact number.
  • No added breaker needed. Just add a 30a outlet box from Home Depot.
    Extra breaker is fine too.

Leave the breaker take the plug move it use the old box as a junction box

i thought of that but i figured if i am going to do all this work of burying the conduit and running the wire i might as well put a box with a breaker next to the TT so that if i have to work on the TT i can shut the power off and put it back on right from the side of the trailer instead of having to run back and forth to the garage... the 30 amp box with a breaker and plug is only about 30 bucks.
