Charging ability begins with the size of generator. For example, a Honda eu2000i will handle a 60a charger, and barely handle a 75a (power factor corrected) charger. Charger size will depend on battery bank size, and the time frame available. Most converters are not designed to handle charging while boondocking... you need one that goes to (at least) 14.8v and stays there until bank is truly full. Or you can use either a portable charger, or a bench power supply, depending on whether or not you like being 'hands on', and don't mind having to monitor things more closely.
