Battery type mostly depends on how you plan to use them, and on whether or not they will be properly ventilated. There are also other factors, such as space restrictions and such.

I'm speaking in very general terms here, for a reason... just giving you an overall perspective on things. There's much to learn and consider, and plenty of previous threads to read thru. Take your time, and absorb what you can... you've taken on a substantial project... believe me, I know! :)
