electrical short?

I was getting my 5th wheel eready for our fall trip thia AM and while kneeling beside the trailer I touched a metal panel and got a slight electrical tingle. Not enought to hurt me but a concern neverthe less. Any ideas as to the problem/solution?
  • Thanks for all the help. Electricity and I do not like each other.
  • As long as you are buying a new cord, get a good one, 12 gauge so you can run a few things in the RV without having a big voltage drop.

    .

No harm done. I had the same issue with a 2 prong adapter.

  • If you are using a 2 wire extension this is quite common. Replace it with a 3 wire cord.
  • When it comes to electrical issues I'm totally useless. What needs to be done to correct this open ground issue?
  • Sorry I forget to mention that. Im hooked into a 20A circuit from the house.
  • Any links suggestions to the hundreds of pages on this site that covers every molecule of information and ten reams of comments on this subject?
  • Are you plugged into shore power? If so, 15 amp, 30 amp or 50 amp outlet?

Likely open ground or worse, reverse polarity. Tell us what shore power you are using and we can help.
