You may want to google "Basic Electrical Theory". In short (no pun intended) the neutral carries the difference between the two hot legs back to the panel (if any). On 120 V system, the neutral carries the amperage back to the panel. So, whatever current is on the hot leg will be on the neutral to complete the electrical path.
RV's electrical panels are setup to balance out the load on each 120 V hot leg. Another words, AC 1 on one hot leg and AC 2 on the other and so forth. There is NO 240 Volts present other than across the two 120 volt hot legs in the panel. This is a much better electrical setup and allows you to use more appliances at the same time and not overload the system.
