Electrical Trailer Plug on Holiday Rambler Arista

Having trouble with the trailer plug on a Arista Holiday Rambler with the Ford Chassis. Looks like a factory plug that takes off separately to the 7 pin plug. This take off only has 3 wires, a red, green and brown. Have power at this plug but nothing there after. Likely poor connects which is literally impossible to clean.
Could we tap into the wires behind the rear bumper that travel to the right and left tail lights to run to the 7 pin plug with a good ground (white)? Need lights only to the 2014 crv Honda being pulled behind the motor home. Honda is not wired for brakes..
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Ellis

  • Normally yellow and green are turn signals, brown running lights, white ground. On the 7 wire, you will have three additional colors, one being +12 from the battery (hopefully only when engine is running) perhaps back up lights and electric brake power, of you have a electric brake controller in the RV.

Yes you fan buy a 7 pin to 4 pin adapter at most RV parts sellers and even many Wal Marts with RV parts section. Check Autozone.com and CampingWorld.com

    Good luck!

    Fred.
  • Not sure I understand.. If you need just a ground, attach to a nearby bolt or drill and install your own.
Or maybe just replace the entire failed connector.
