Eternabond on the INSIDE of walls?

I am fixing a leak in my camper and have a couple very small holes in the aluminum back wall, just below where it meets up with the rubber roof. The hole can't be much bigger than a 1/4" by 1/4". I would like to use some Eternabond tape, but want to install it from the INSIDE of the wall where it is much less visible.

My concern is that there would be a small area of adhesive open to the elements. Would water/dirt/UV light damage the tape and damage it or loosen the adhesive bond over time?

Has anyone done anything like this in the past that can provide some suggestions for me?

Thanks in advance!

  • Stop the leak outdoors! Once the water gets in stuff starts to rot!

With epoxy patch inside he won't need Eterna outside, and it will look better without Eterna. For cosmetic purposes he can use a sticker or a drop of matching paint on the outside.

Actually more or less is good advice. That will keep the water out and protect the eternabond from sun.

  • Use a gob of Dicor or Proflex on the outside. Much better plan. Caulking or taping on the inside will still allow water inside the wall.
  • Why don't you use some epoxy putty? Clean the surface well first.
