Sil-Pads are a top-of-the-line product. They have excellent thermal properties. Do not use thermal grease with them. They're used to electrically insulate the fet or whatever from the heatsink.
I doubt they are reusable if you lift the fet from the pad.

He said the thermal pad is very easy to tear.
There is no thermal grease in between the pad, and the aluminum heatsink, nor between the aluminum heatsink and the casing, and the aluminum heat sink does not sit completely flat on the case, so I believe thermal grease will vastly help increase heat flow away from mosfet placed in these areas.
