Good info.
I have no intentions of touching the sil pads, or whatever product was used for this purpose.
I'll have to make sure what I believe is thermal grease, as shown in a previous photo squeezing out from the sides of the mosfet, is indeed thermal grease, and not just a rubbery type glue to hold the thermal pad to the mosfet. Like exists at the bottom of the caps and inductor coil.
My application of thermal grease will be only between heat sink and PSU casing and casing and additional heat sink if i go so far as to make and attach one or two to the the external casing
Time to open it up again to assuage my curiosity.
