Not a capacitor, not the transformer, but the lowly old rear Mosfets.
Salvo said there was not supposed to be thermal grease between mosfet and sil/ thermal pad? Well they put a lot.

I had been told these thermal pads are, or get fragile and never touched them, but I have found them to be remarkable resilient since. The white thermal grease they used over there was applied liberally, and was bridging the 3 contacts on the mosfets. Arctic Silver is a dark grey.
Both of these greases seem impossible to remove from ones skin, especially from fingerprints.
I am not sure thats why they blew. Pretty sure it was letting the buzzing continue for 16 minutes or so rather than backing off to just below buzzing at the 36.2 amp threshhold, but heck, I really know so little about this stuff.
I used the solder wick to remove them from the circuit board, used some 91% rubbing alcohol to clean up what I could reach with a q tip, several Q tips. Did i mention that freaking grease is a female dog to clean up?
This photo was flipped over 180 degrees in photoshop. sorry they are not the same clarity of previous photos.
I can detect no damage to other components, visually.
