I have never seen my Mega Watt flat out drop out. I have probably needed to add, at most 60 amps out of 150 amps capacity on my Trojan T-1275. Basically, I try to keep that battery at at least 60% SOC at all times. I probably run 60-90% SOC charges, for about 8 or 9 days. It's now time for me to equalize my T 1275 today.
The Mega Watt, is rated at 30 amps. It will charge at 33 amps. If overloaded and it gets too hot, it cycles back from 33 amps to a 30 amp charge rate.
Spec sheet says:
Over Load: 105-135% rated output. Power protection type: Hiccup mode. Recovers automatically after fault condition removed.
Over Voltage: Protection type: Hiccup mode, recovers automatically after fault condition is removed.
Rated Current: 30 amps. Current Range 0-33 amps.
Landyacht... I guess you won't know about the MegaWatt until you buck up and buy one. Two versions $50 and $60, for 30 amps and 36 amps. No one, to my knowledge, has bucked up and bought the 36 amp version yet. Feel Lucky? ;-)
