EV batteries range from about 25 to 100 kWh. All can be slow charged but most are about 7kW max charging at home. Max charge rate is determined by the lower rating of the car vs supply.
If you calculate everything at the max you will way overshoot the needed power.
Same as an RV campground cannot supply the entire string at the max simultaneously. Yet we normally get by just fine. Recently a huge discussion on that.
EVs get roughly about 4 miles to the kWh so a 40 mile drive is 10 kWh to charge.
We can talk about overloading the grid but utilities are actually looking forward to expanding the business. Demand has been about flat for the last decade.
