I've had to toss electronics that broke or cracked a circuit board trace. Switches where a PCB=like circuit path was blow, battery operated stuff where the battery contact went bad. This stuff is cheaper and easier than spending 12 dollars in gasoline for the privilege of going to buy a replacement.
