Experience with replacing decals or repainting

we have a Montana TT and the decals are coming off. I always blamed the sun up here as it does get hot. My SIL bought one this year and it is the same age as ours and it has been housed so to speak and the decals are coming off also. they want $1400.00 for replacement decals and I just said no, it doesn't bother me so let the next guy worry about it. of course I will take a hit on resale I'm sure
