Does your thread title mean it's rare for you to have Internet service at all or it's rare for you to have cellular Internet service?
I believe the main ways to get Internet are (at least): DSL, copper coaxial cable, fiber optics cable, cellular tower direct, WiFi, satellite, wide-area RF. Our mountain rural Internet comes to us via wide-area RF.
