Extending 10/3 gen cable?

I made my 10/3 cable too short at 25 feet, need 35 feet. Neighbor gave me 20 feet of 10/3 so wondering if it is ok to splice in 10-15 feet and if so, what tips do u have for making a good quality splice that will hold up. Only running up to 4000 watts.

    I would get some of those splice connectors they use for submersible well pumps. I think that is about the best you can get

    Yes, it will be fine.
    Now I know some will say you need 0000 or something but in the real world, you will be OK.
