Fan running noise with nothing on

I just picked up my 2014 CWS8 from Camping World (Viking clone), and today for no reason a fan noise is coming from the back of the refrigerator area near the convertor possibly. The thing is I only have the battery hooked up, no refrigerator on, nothing else on, and the camper is closed up (collapsed) in travel mode. Any ideas on what the noise is or why it is on with nothing having power applied??

  • So Bob in HH, what did you determine to be the source of the "fan noise?"
  • I believe the op indicated that the unit was not plugged in. He may have overlooked that the frig is on because the selector sw. is in auto mode. Just a thought.
  • Vote for the convertor fan - the one is our unit is located in the storage compartment area.

Also if your refrigerator is in the slide it has a cooling fan too - near the evaporator coils. My refer fan is noisy - I'll be adding a second fan and may replace the original one with a quieter one.
  • If you have just plugged trailer into shore power, it's probably the converter cooling fan running because of heat generated while charging battery. Normal condition nothing to worry about
  • Refrigerator cooling fan on thermostat or perhaps a solar powered refrigerator fan in the venting shaft?

    Just a thought.
