@Ken_burke, It would be easier for us to see if you have any issue in the circuit board if you can upload any pictures of the circuit. A three way switch generally doesn’t give any issues of complete dis-connectivity so it might be the switch board. If you have a multi-meter, measure voltages at different points and let us know. It is not that big of an issue actually, from what I can guess you’re thinking on spending more money on a new fan and this can be repaired in less. See if there is any electronics shop nearby and they will probably be able to repair it for much less.
