Fantastic Vent Fan Squeeeek Fixed

Was tired of the fan squeek. I had oiled the front bearing but the rear bearing is enclosed in the steel housing and that is the noisy one. I drilled a hole in the center of the casing where the fan shaft is using an end mill bit (they don't have a point) and put some oil in there. No more squeeeeek! Atwood says they are not repairable and wants over $50 for a motor.

  • I have another Fantastic Vent, the lid motor will randomly drive down & up. If a rain sensor or circuit board is needed, Atwood will only sell you the entire fan shroud complete but without the lid and fan motor, $100+.

The lids do have a lifetime warranty and they now make a dual pane lid. The do charge you for shipping.

    NOT

    ANY

    MORE

I would LOVE to source the fan motor manufacturer FanTastic buys from.

Wouldn't it be nice if these motors were permanent magnet brushless dual ball bearing?
  • must have been before they sold out. I called just before they moved to Ind and the guy I talked to was upset losing his job if he didn't move. I told him I needed a 3 way switch. A few days later I received 2 as I had told him I have 2 fans. Gonna miss their warranty & customer service. After yrs of building rads & restoring cars I have found there are very few things you can't repair if you just think a little. Good Job.
  • .that happened to me and they just sent me a replacement free of charge.
