hoosierdaddy47, I had the same problem with a bathroom faucet. I know what you are saying about the tooth brush. My cure was not a change-out of the faucet but adding a "kitchen type aerator / sprayer" did the trick. Any Hardware store or even Amazon has them for 6 or 7 dollars. Believe me this will work provided your current bathroom faucet has a threaded end to receive the new sprayer. Get the one that swivels and you can direct the flow to the center of the sink if you want to. Copy and paste the link below to view one of the adapters.
