Oh my, you got me concerned that I was wrong so I just went down to check my Slime gauge. I checked a tire and the pressure was displayed for over 30 seconds, at which point I put it back in the drawer. It stays displayed until you check another tire, or it times out which seems to be around a minute.
I've got a slime, too! I'd like another one if you can tell me where to buy it from. I got mine at a dollar store for $2 but the store never got them again. Mistake?

The slime doesn't like dollar store batteries very much - short life. Best to buy a $4 2032 with a brand name like Everready. I had some trouble with accuracy and failure so I took all my gauges to a good shop and compared with a high end gauge. The Slime was perfect. The spring gauges were mostly junk.
I found it on Amazon.com. Alas, not on Amazon.ca. Perfect for dual wheels. May not like temperatures below zero F. https://www.amazon.com/Slime-20146-Digital-Truck-Gauge/dp/B005WG84RS/ref=sr_1_31?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1471647354&sr=1-31&keywords=slime+pressure+gauge
eBay.ca has it for $35 including shipping.
