Fiberglass wall repair?

I'm going to have to do some fiberglass work in the future and to make things simple I'm just going to get the repair level with the wall and add another "swoop decal" to cover it or paint one on. Too hard to make it match.

Final coat is on. I got it fairly smooth just in the application, but may still try and use some very fine sandpaper to go even more. It dried pretty transparent, almost an amber color. Now I have to decide if I'm going to try and paint it or just use a decal of some kind.

All in all it was a good experience. Doesn't seem nearly as daunting now having gone through the process. Hopefully it'll be a solid repair.

Next up....cleaning off and resealing some caulked areas.

He is a great guy. Very knowledgable and willing to help. He said the same thing about it being stronger.

To bring this back.....I sanded things down and discovered a piece of metal that was poking through the plywood. Kind of looked like a large staple? Not sure if this moved because of heat or what, but it looks like what caused the fiberglass to crack.
I ground everything down as best and neatly as I could. My neighbor suggested I use his Epoxy Resin. Two steps. First, mix it up and layer in some cloth. Let that sit....then mix more with a thickener. Put that on top. Then I can sand it smooth, paint or cover for cosmetic needs. Hope it works.

Going to have my neighbor take a look. He's got a lot of RV experience. We just did a roof check so I'd be really bummed if it's water intrusion. The area doesn't seem to be pulled away at all from the second layer.

They sell small glassing kits at the big box and auto parts stores. You get resin, hardener, and a piece of cloth. Push on the crack to make it concave, sand it, and fill. You could also try fiberglass filling compound, it is easier for a novice than mat and resin.

Hmmmm ...... I'm with Veebyes. Carve out the middle and see what it looks like. Bulging out could be water intrusion, so check things well. Hopefully it is just an impact from outside and you can just patch it up.

Make sure it's fiberglass and not FRP. FRP can require different kinds of repair.

Hope you're right. Only thing that makes me nervous is its a bit popped out. The wood underneath seems to be raised ever so slightly.
