- Matt_ColieExplorer IIWe are on our second set of 'Stone HTs. The first were largely pulled off because of age and changing from 16.5 to 16 for availability. They rode and served well. I have no complaints about the tires.
Matt - j-dExplorer IILet me say I wouldn't hesitate to use them. Based on all I've read, Firestone's unfortunate legacy didn't reach Transforce. I don't worry too much about miles since my tires age out first

Actually right now the rears on my F250 are Firestone Winterforce tires. Yes, 2 wheel drive truck, and I put dedicated snow tires on in the winter.
I actually run Winterforce year around on my other pickup truck. Great tires for off road amd they wear well too. A bit noisy but not too irritating. All 4 wheels, 4wd. - TvovExplorer III'm on my second set of Firestone Transforce HT tires on my F250. Good tire for the price. Kinda wish they would last longer, but I am happy with them.

Took many cross country trips with no problems. I run the TransForce AT on my 3500 dually mostly towing miles got 50,000 mls on them when I bought new ones. Had enough tire left that the dealer gave me $50 trade on the new TransForce AT/2.

But to be fair about this...
Play the part of "the bold explorer" and report back in a year...
To be "fair", Ford recommended too low a tire pressure and we know what happens when you put too much weight on a under inflated tire.
I've used them for 10+ years without problems. - 3_tonsExplorer IIII’ve had Michelin (2 sets - sidewalls crack), Generals (fairly good), Nexen’s ( OEM junk), and Firestone Transforce AT’s (2sets)...Transforce AT’s are now the only tire I’ll buy - great smooth ride, quiet, super deep tread, last as long as Michelins...
- westendExplorerI'm running Firestones on my passenger car fleet, FH710. I had the tip-over Explorer and Firestones, never had a problem. I run Bridgestone Dueler's on my F250. Bridgestone bought Firestone Tire in 1988.
The Transforce HT is probably a good tire but I have no personal experience with them. - CharlesinGAExplorerMy '07 WBO View had a set on it in '15 when I bought it, dated 2012. They had been coated in tire shine which the tire people tell me (many different tire people) caused the sidewall checking on mine. I drove the tires for about 5K after I bought it (They were basically new when I bought the MH) and removed them and installed a set of Michelin MS2 tires thru the FMCA Michelin Advantage program. The Michelin's ride about a thousand percent smoother and nicer than the Firestones, but I have read comments from a number of people who have had good luck with the Transforce HT.
I did scrap the original '06 dated Michelin spare and hung one of the inboard duals (Firestone) on the spare tire mount on the rear (no sidewall checking).
Charles - JIMNLINExplorer IIIIve ran several sets of 16" LT E on equipment trailers with great service but haven't tried them on a truck.
