You probably have the "official" PEX crimps. It's very common to see Oetiker clamps used instead, and they work just as well.
To remove a PEX ring, I'd get out the Dremel with a cutoff wheel and go slowly to avoid cutting into or melting the tubing. They do make a tool, but it's expensive and you have to cut the tubing and lose an inch of length.
